More Hate That Doesn’t Exist

UPDATE: As promised, I’m providing a link to the voice mails and emails that I referred to earlier. You can view/listen if you click here. These are not censored for the most part, so I must warn you that it contains material that is likely not safe for work.
Apparently ACORN employees are now getting death threats, and offices are being vandalized. One recording was released today that featured a female voice saying that Barack Obama “needs to be hung” and spewing various racial slurs and expletives. (I’ll put up a video or link to the recording as soon as I find one.)
Vigilante justice… If you follow the link, scroll down to the second comment:
“THINGS HAVE A FUNNY WAY OF COMING BACK AROUND. ONE CANNOT CONDUCT THESELVES IN SUCH A WAY AS TO COMPROMISE THE RIGHTS OF SO MANY. SOMEONE IS UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS. SO, THAT SHADOW JUST OUTSIDE OF THE CORNER OF YOUR EYE – THE CREAKS HEARD IN THE EVENING WHILE ON THE WAY TO SLEEP – MAYBE IT’S THEM. SWEET DREAMS”
Perhaps the comment doesn’t really exist, though. Does it really NEED to be stated that while there have been incidents within ACORN, perhaps not ALL ACORN employees are criminals? Perhaps these people could be targeting the innocent. Does that really NEED to be said?

[...] In other news, the kind of vile sewage that people at McCain/Palin rallies have been spewing in recent weeks has spilled over into attacks on ACORN employees and offices, as Alabama Moderate notes. [...]

Hate is everywhere when it comes to election time. Do you remember back in 2002 in Kentucky there was a sheriff candidate and Circuit clerk candidate that both were shot at? One had to jump out of a moving van and roll down a hillway to escape being killed. Then in Georgia, a sheriff candidate won the election on promises to clean up the sheriff’s department. He was murdered by someone the former sheriff had sent to his home. Murdered in his driveway. TERRIBLE!

I remember that one, Deb. And you’re right. Hate is everywhere. It’s when people try to play it off or say that it doesn’t exist that gets me downright ornery. You can’t address an issue to fix it if you don’t believe it exists.
