Maybe they’ll start reporting the actual news, now…

Well, the Birmingham News has always been pro-dome, but I wasn’t the only one who noticed a sudden surge in kissing up to Mayor La La from the News. That was mostly due to fear from the publication that Langford would pull a major source of income from them– paid legal advertising.
Well, that threat is no longer good– at least for now. So maybe I won’t read any more editorials about how nobody should question Langford.
The Birmingham City Council voted yesterday to continue the advertising while the mayor seeks an opinion from the attorney general. (Someone, particularly a prominent Democrat, asking for an opinion from Troy King? This could get interesting!)
So now Langford can get back to thinly veiled boycott threats to Trussville Mayor Gene Melton because Melton dared to offer a negative opinion on a structure being build just outside the city he runs. Honestly, I think when comparing the average disposable income of Birmingham and Trussville residents, Langford has more to fear from loss of Trussville shoppers than Melton has to fear from the reverse situation.
