Moderate Changes
Posted by ALmod on November 27, 2006
I plan on making some changes to this site in 2007. One such change will be my purchase of a domain name for this blog. But since I like the idea of at least partial anonymity for myself so that I can feel more free to express my views (you never know what a potential employer might find), I have one teeny problem with getting a domain. Does anyone have any (cheap, preferably free) suggestions on how to deal with this, short of purchasing a post office box?

Maybe you can get someone else to buy the domain in their name (as a black gentleman insisted he be allowed to do for me, and he has paid the bills for nearly 3 years} and then not use your real name on the website – the same as Dr. I.Q.

There are domains by proxy services. If you sign up using GoDaddy, then you can also sign up for such anonymous things at the same time.

Thank you, wyrmis! That was incredibly helpful!

Yep, I use domain-by-proxy over at the Political Parlor.
Good luck!
